Gas and charging stations offering comprehensive services
The gas station’s multi-service business model includes car washing, quick maintenance, CUP&GO coffee, on-site convenience stores, and the sale of high-quality products. In 2023, eight electric vehicle charging stations with 30 chargers were added, bringing the total to 10 stations (and 48 chargers) by the end of the year. Furthermore, there are plans to add another 10 stations (40 chargers) in 2024. As of 2023, there are 265 stations offering car washing services and 62 stations offering quick maintenance services, with 177 stations selling CUP&GO coffee. Overall, in 2023, the diversified business generated approximately NT$1.6 billion in gross profit. In particular, 3.20 million bottles of CPC intake valve cleaners for cars and diesel vehicles sold, while sales of eco-friendly laundry detergent and dishwashing detergent reached 1.3 million bottles. Holiday gift boxes set a sales record of 165,000 boxes, and more than 1.97 million cups of CUP&GO coffee were sold. This fully demonstrates the channel value of gas stations, and diversified services have been recognized by customers.
Regarding customer service, in 2000, CPC set up the 0800-036-188 customer hotline to coordinate the handling and response of customer issues after integrating various professional services provided by different internal units. The 1912 CPC service hotline came into use in 2011; an English-language service was added in 2020, a Taiwanese-language service in 2021, and a Hakka service in 2022, expanding the company’s communication with the public.
Smart and Green Energy, Optimizing Electrical Efficiency
As the era of new energy emerges, CPC is proactively transitioning by integrating innovative energy generation, utilization, and storage technologies into its existing Smart Green gas stations, ushering in a new generation of smart green energy stations. As of 2023, CPC operates four such stations – Qianfeng Station in Tainan, Xinyi Station in Chiayi, Chietong Station in Taoyuan, and Guangfu Station in Hualien. These stations are equipped with an Energy Management System (EMS) to optimize overall electricity usage ensuring maximum power efficiency.
Green gas stations, Cultivating Public Restrooms Culture
CPC launched a program to “green” its gas stations in 2013. As of December 2023, 73 gas stations had received Green Building certification as the global green building movement continues to thrive. These sustainable design and green concepts align with CPC’s dedication to achieving sustainability in its operations.
CPC has been dedicated to cultivating a culture of clean public toilets for years. In 2021, in response to the United Nations World Toilet Day, the company launched the “Visit CPC, Enjoy the Convenience” campaign. This initiative brings together the efforts of employees, their families, and franchise partners to maintain the cleanliness of gas station toilets. Since 2021, the public toilets at CPC-owned gas stations have been rated Excellent for three consecutive years.
